# Terms of Use — Galaxus Shop MCP Server

## What This Server Does

The Galaxus Shop MCP server connects AI assistants to the Galaxus online shop. It queries publicly available product data (names, prices, ratings, descriptions) and returns it to the calling AI client.

## Data We Collect

When you use the `search_products` tool, the following data is transmitted to our servers:

Our telemetry and monitoring systems also collect technical data such as IP addresses and general device information (e.g. operating system, user agent). This data is used solely for service operation and monitoring.

## Data We Do NOT Collect

- **No intentional personal data collection** — we do not ask for or store names, email addresses, or account information
- **No authentication** — the server is stateless and does not require or store login credentials
- **No cookies or browser storage** — the server does not use cookies or any form of client-side storage
- **No conversation content** — we do not receive or store any part of your conversation beyond the search query, the optional search filters and the optional `userIntent` field which is filled by the AI agent, not the user directly. The AI agent is instructed not to include personal information in this field. Any incidental data is treated with the same protections as all other collected data.

## How We Use the Data

Collected data is used exclusively for:

- **Executing search queries** — the search query and filters are forwarded to the Galaxus product catalog to retrieve results
- **Traffic monitoring and service improvement** — tool invocation metadata is sent to an internal Digitec Galaxus telemetry service for usage monitoring, traffic analysis, and service improvement.

We do not use collected data for profiling, advertising, or any purpose other than operating and improving this service.

## Product Page Links

Product page URLs returned by this server include UTM parameters that identify the traffic as originating from the MCP connector. This is used solely for traffic monitoring and service improvement — not for identifying individual users.

When you visit a product link, the Galaxus website collects standard web analytics data (e.g. page views, interactions) via its own tracking systems. This data collection is governed by the [Galaxus privacy policy](https://www.galaxus.ch/en/guide/22). No additional personal data is collected beyond what galaxus.ch collects from any visitor.

## Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the "Effective date" above.
